The hand brake valve is used to operate the parking brake and emergency brake of towing vehicles and trailers with spring brakes. Poor quality hand valves can cause a series of problems in the trailer braking system air circuit, such as insufficient air supply, slow bleeding, and in severe cases, the trailer braking may bite, leading to overheating of the braking system.
Determine three working states based on handle operation
The WABCO hand brake valve is divided into two parts: the operating handle and the brake valve body. The control handle of the hand valve can automatically return to the driving position between the parking position and the driving position, and can be locked when the handle is in the parking position. As the control handle moves in different positions, the hand valve is divided into three working positions: 1. driving position, 2. parking position, and 3. inspection position. 1. Driving position: The initial position where the handle operates, the handbrake valve does not function, and the vehicle operates normally.
2. Parking position: When the handle crosses the thrust point and reaches the parking brake locking position, the handle locks and the entire vehicle is in the parking brake state.
3. Inspection position: At this brake detection position, the trailer's parking brake is released, which can be used to detect whether the main vehicle's parking brake can reliably stop on a slope.
If sliding occurs, the trailer parking handle should be closed separately or a suitable parking position should be selected. When parking temporarily, remember to operate the handle to the inspection position to check if the car is slipping and avoid traffic accidents.
