How to use disc axle?

1. Advantages of disc axles
Compared with drum axles, the biggest features of disc axles are light weight, fast heat dissipation, sensitive response, and strong resistance to thermal attenuation and water attenuation.
(1) The 360° brake drum has been eliminated, and the deadweight has been greatly improved; at the same time, after installing the disc axle, there is no need to install a water spray device, which can further increase the vehicle's cargo capacity.
(2) The components of the braking system are simplified, the structure is simpler, the braking response speed is faster, and the ABS and EBS systems can exert optimal performance under emergency braking.
(3) The open wheel end design has high ventilation efficiency and fast heat dissipation. It is not easy to cause thermal attenuation under frequent and continuous braking. It is not easy for water to accumulate on the wheel end when passing through water sections. It has good water attenuation resistance and can be used after passing through water. Braking performance can be restored by pressing the brake pedal several times in succession.
(4) Maintenance is more convenient. It only takes a few minutes to replace the friction plate, which can improve vehicle operation efficiency and reduce downtime due to maintenance.
2. Precautions when using disc axles
(1) The tractor needs to be equipped with a hydraulic retarder or other auxiliary braking device, which also complies with the regulations of JT/T1178.2 and improves the safety of disc brakes.
(2) It is recommended that tractors and trailers be equipped with ABS/EBS systems. This is also a way to improve the braking performance of the vehicle and enhance driving safety. In particular, the disc axle brake response speed is fast and can give full play to the ABS/EBS system. EBS usage efficiency.
It should be noted that the purpose of installing hydraulically dampened ABS/EBS is to improve driving safety, not to cope with vehicle inspections. Therefore, it is strictly prohibited to release the hydraulically dampened auxiliary braking or turn off the ABS/EBS system during driving.
(3) It is prohibited to install water spray cooling devices. Disc axles can achieve high-speed heat dissipation through air flow. If you are worried about poor heat dissipation, you can improve it by installing auxiliary braking. Do not spray water directly to cool down, because the brake disc of the disc axle is completely exposed. If Directly pouring cold water under high temperature is likely to cause chill cracking, seriously affecting driving safety.
(4) Pay attention to self-inspection after passing through bad road conditions. We have mentioned above that disc axles should not be used in harsh road conditions. If the vehicle is driven on gravel roads, mines, wild areas, etc., pay attention to checking the wheel ends and brake discs to see if there is any foreign object damage. , nip problems in the bud.
